Building the Future from Within: Knutson’s Self-Perform Department

As we continue to grow across Minnesota and Wisconsin, we want to spotlight our Self-Perform Department. With a trio of dedicated team members, they are expanding in vision, capacity, and impact.

Self-perform work has always been an advantage here at Knutson. With areas of expertise in demolition, finish carpentry, concrete, masonry, and more, our focused and energized team is working on taking the department to the next level.

Introducing the Self-Perform General Superintendent and Self-Perform Project Manager

At the center of this momentum is Tim Jacobson, who started at Knutson in 2016 and has recently moved into a newly established role as the Self-Perform General Superintendent

Tim’s leadership, in collaboration with Torrey Kistler, The Director of Self-Perform, will play an important part in advancing Knutson’s self-perform optimization effort, strengthening capabilities, and reinforcing a commitment to excellence. Tim will work with General Superintendents and project teams across all Knutson offices to ensure self-perform services support strong company performance. This role brings consistency, strategy, and mentorship —helping our teams work smarter, safer, and more efficiently.

Another addition to the team is Nick Radloff, our new Self-Perform Project Manager, who started in February. Nick joined Team Blue, ready to hit the ground running with his valuable experience and new perspectives.

“I was in a previous self-perform role at my past employer and wanted to stay engaged in growing the sector that impacts our most important asset, the field crews. I’m excited to be a part of this highly respected team and hope to provide value along the way,” said Nick.

The Power of Self-Perform

What does self-perform mean for our clients, partners, and team members?

  • Greater control over quality and schedule.
  • Improved safety and consistency.
  • Quicker problem-solving… And more!

As we continue to grow our self-perform capabilities, we look forward to expanding our field presence, investing in training and development, and exploring new ways to bring more value to clients and communities!
