Celebrating Black History Month at Knutson Construction

At Knutson, we believe in building a stronger, more inclusive future. This Black History Month, we had the privilege of hosting a special luncheon featuring an inspiring guest speaker, David Myles, who shared insights on Black excellence and innovations, the historical contributions of Black builders and architects, the meaning of culture, perception management, and more.

Our team gathered to reflect on Black leaders, inventors, and visionaries’ impact in the construction industry and beyond. From Paul R. Williams, the architect known for designing iconic buildings across the country, to innovators who shaped modern engineering, the discussion highlighted the resilience and brilliance that continue to inspire our work today.

In addition to the luncheon, several Knutson team members attended the annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday Breakfast hosted by UNCF, where they heard from Minnesota’s own Michele Norris on her diversity initiatives and how to have open conversations with those around you. This event served as a powerful reminder of the importance of service, leadership, and the role we each play in creating a workplace and industry that values diversity and inclusion.

We are grateful to everyone who participated and look forward to continuing our efforts to celebrate and uplift Black history and excellence throughout the year.
