Celebrating Knutson’s Commitment to Community Involvement with Hearts and Hammers

Team Blue members joined together in Minneapolis to volunteer for Hearts and Hammers.

Hearts and Hammers is a non-profit organization that provides exterior home improvement assistance for Senior Citizens, Disabled Adults, and Veterans of the United States Armed Forces or their Surviving Spouses so that they may continue living independently. The non-profit has restored over 8,500 Twin Cities and Dallas homes since 1986.

Knutson has volunteered with the organization for over 10 years and always seems to go above and beyond. Along with painting the house and helping with landscaping, team members also went to the home earlier in the week to re-roof a portion of the house and replace the trim. With over 30 participants, the team was able to finish the renovations very quickly.

Jacob Garr, a Knutson Project Manager has been involved with Hearts and Hammers for the last few years. He thinks that it is a great event because there is something for everyone to help with.

“We can come out and show them everything that our group did, either before the day, and then the day of as well. And seeing the look on their faces and how excited they are and truly grateful they are that we’re able to do that for them is amazing,” says Garr.
