Honoring Black History Month with Team Blue

As Black History Month comes to a close—marking its 100th year—we’re taking a moment to reflect on the generations of Black leaders whose strength, creativity, and leadership continue to shape our communities and our industry.

Earlier this year, Team Blue had the opportunity to spend the morning at the annual MLK Breakfast, presented by General Mills in support of UNCF. Every time, we leave inspired after hearing keynote speakers share their professional and personal journeys. The event served as a powerful reminder that leadership is not defined by title alone, but by the impact we make on those around us.

Here at Knutson, that reminder resonates deeply.

Our commitment extends beyond a single month on the calendar. By creating a culture where people feel valued, supported, and part of a strong team environment, we strengthen every project and every partnership. When we lead with courage, we challenge ourselves to listen, learn, and continue growing. And when we act with care, not just intention, we help build communities where opportunity can take root.

In construction, we have the privilege of shaping the spaces where people live, heal, learn, and connect. As we reflect on Black History Month and the inspiration shared at the MLK Breakfast, we remain committed to carrying that legacy forward — not only in February or January, but throughout the year!
