Interns Participate in 3rd Annual Mock Bid Day
This week, Knutson’s Preconstruction team hosted the 3rd Annual Mock Bid Day at our Rochester office, and it was a hit with our 2025 interns.
This hands-on, fast-paced event allowed our interns to step into the world of construction estimating and project bidding. Through a little friendly competition, they got a front-row seat to what it takes to level bids, manage time under pressure, and work as a unified project team, showing them what our real preconstruction teams do every day.
While the fieldwork often gets the spotlight in construction, this experience showcased the essential behind-the-scenes work that brings a project to life. “Mock Bid Day was something I looked forward to since the beginning of the summer. It’s a fast-paced, competitive activity that brings everyone together and puts our time management skills to the test,” Lukas Bush, Project Engineer Intern, shared.
Kayla Reid, Project Engineer Intern, added, “It was a great way to learn more about what it takes to complete a project. Seeing the estimating side highlighted how much teamwork goes into winning a job. Plus, it was a lot of fun connecting with the other interns and combining our strengths.”
We’re proud to offer experiences that build skills, confidence, and future leaders!
