Paul Almen

Paul Almen serves as Vice President and General Counsel, leading the company-wide legal strategy in a newly created role that supports Knutson’s long-term growth. Based in the Minneapolis office, he provides in‑house counsel across all departments, partnering with operations and project teams to anticipate issues and enable confident decision‑making.

With more than three decades in the construction industry, Paul brings deep experience in claims oversight, enterprise risk identification and mitigation, contract review and negotiation, and dispute resolution. His practical, business‑focused approach helps safeguard projects and strengthen client and partner relationships while aligning legal priorities with strategic objectives.

Almen earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from Gustavus Adolphus College and a Juris Doctor from William Mitchell College of Law.
