Ready to Score: Heading into Hockey Season with the All Seasons Arena Remodel

A New Era for Hockey

As we head into hockey season, we’re thrilled to highlight the All Seasons Arena in Mankato, which is undergoing a significant remodel. Originally built in 1973 and expanded in 1998, this 34,000-square-foot facility has long been a cornerstone of the community.

The project brings together diverse stakeholders, including the City of Mankato, Eagle Lake, North Mankato, Mankato Area Public Schools, and local hockey associations. Their vision aims to revitalize the arena to serve youth hockey players, figure skaters, and community members for years to come.

The remodel addresses crucial updates needed for the arena, particularly its outdated ice-making systems. The new improvements include:

  • Upgraded Refrigeration Units
  • Improved Spectator Flow
  • Accessibility Upgrades

In addition, exterior renovations will enhance the parking lot and upgrade restrooms and concession areas, elevating the experience for visitors.

A Vision for the Future

Project Manager, Collin Bennett emphasizes the holistic approach taken with this renovation. “The ice was the initial concern, but we saw a chance to improve the entire facility,” he notes. This project not only addresses the immediate needs of the arena but also strengthens the ongoing relationship between Knutson and the City of Mankato.

Jim Tatge, Facilities Manager for the City of Mankato, echoed this sentiment: “As we prepare to open Phase 1 to the public and embark on a busy winter season, staff are already preparing for the start of construction on Phase 2. Once complete, the facility will continue to be a wonderful recreational asset and a great example of how beneficial partnerships can be to the larger community.”

Looking Forward

The excitement is clear, especially among local organizations like the Mankato Area Hockey Association (MAHA). MAHA has been dedicated to improving ice and training opportunities in the region for over a decade and is eager to take advantage of the newly remodeled facility. “Knutson has done a fantastic job from the start of the project, seeking feedback and implementing ideas that enhance the customer experience at the rink,” they shared.

As we approach the opening of Phase 1 later this month, the anticipation for a busy season grows. The remodeled All Seasons Arena will be here to stay as a modern hub for hockey and community events, ensuring that Mankato remains a vibrant place for recreation and sports.

Stay tuned for more updates as we celebrate the completion of these renovations!
