Recapping this years Intern Connect Program
This year marked exciting growth for our Intern Connect program! For the first time, we welcomed interns into four new roles: field engineering, safety, estimating, and IT. These additions reflected our commitment to investing in the learning and development of future leaders in the industry.
Intern Connect officially kicked off mid-May with a few days of onboarding and team bonding activities, including a competitive game room challenge at Battle Showplace. New this year, interns also led project tours as part of their development experience. The first intern-led tour, held at the District 196 project, provided a valuable opportunity for hands-on learning and peer engagement.
“We were proud to expand the program in a way that reflects the future of our industry,” said Christa Holmen, Talent Acquisition Manager. “It was exciting to see interns stepping into new spaces and gaining real-world experience alongside our teams.”
The program wrapped up this week with final presentations, where interns showcased what they had learned, highlighted their strengths and areas for growth, and shared their five-year aspirations. Mentors were in attendance to watch, offering encouragement and celebrating the progress each intern made throughout the summer.
A heartfelt thank you went out to our incredible mentors. The time, knowledge, and leadership were essential to shaping the next generation of construction professionals!
