University of Iowa General Services Building

In the interest of saving money and accelerating the construction process, the Iowa State Board of Regents agreed to an unusual plan for constructing the campus’ new University Services Building. Historically, University building projects took two to four years from concept to move-in. But under the management of Knutson Construction, the new University Services Building was completed, from foundation to move-in, in just under a year.

This new, three-story office building now centralizes payroll, maintenance, human resources and others — services once scattered over a wide area of campus.
