Knutson Construction Corporate Headquarters

Knutson purchased a building, which was originally built in 1964. It was very important to create a building which proudly displayed the quality workmanship the company is so well known for. In addition, a specific emphasis was placed on using materials Knutson regularly uses on projects, such as creative concrete formwork and exposed steel. Several conference rooms are linked to a dramatic two-story atrium in the center of the building. A grand multipurpose room flows off of the atrium as well, linking into a large kitchen/ entertaining space. Trellis covered porches link to conference rooms and the kitchen to provide the ultimate indoor/outdoor experience. Natural light reaching the middle of the floor plate was a large goal for the client. HDR designed the perimeter offices to have no walls or fully glazed walls, allowing light to reach the center work stations. Small focus rooms were created as well for break out space to hold creative meetings and small group meetings.
