Orpheum Theatre Renovation & Addition
When the historic Orpheum Theatre had lost its original splendor and no longer conformed to current safety codes, the City of Minneapolis turned to Knutson. Built in 1921, the Orpheum needed to meet fire codes and had suffered from years of water damage and disrepair. The theatre’s original features — which included an ornate molded ceiling, decorative paint, crystal chandeliers, and silver leaf decor — also needed to be preserved. In an 18-month period and multiple phases, Knutson restored and updated the beauty of this picturesque landmark.
