Ramada Hotel & Conference Center
Opened in 1977, the hotel had been extremely popular due to its large indoor pool, luxurious surroundings, extensive meeting and banquet facilities and four-star rating. It was connected to an office building already owned by the purchasers of the hotel. Believing they could return the hotel to the level of popularity it had once enjoyed, the owners began the renovation through their own construction company, intending to complete it over a longer period of time. After completing renovation of the hotel bar, the owners decided to accelerate their timetable and complete the renovation of the entire hotel, enlisting the aid of local contractor Knutson for the ambitious project.
All 149 guest rooms in the hotel were refurbished with many added amenities. A new restaurant was added to the hotel, and the original bar was relocated and completely remodeled. But the thing enticing vacationing families to return to the hotel is the indoor pool area, which was transformed into a water park — complete with two pools, hot tub and a two-story, double helix water slide. Overlooking the water park is the hotel's new fitness center. Other areas renovated include the catering kitchen, lobby, business center, banquet space and offices.
