In Recognition: Veterans Day 2023
In fall 2021, Knutson began work as the general contractor on the Preston and Montevideo Veterans Home projects, both residential style skilled care model facilities with private living quarters and multiple community areas for use by anywhere from 54 (Preston) to 72 (Montevideo) veterans. Now, as the facilities near completion in the fall of 2023, we wanted to take a moment ahead of the Veterans Day holiday to recognize the projects’ significance as well as share our appreciation for those that the homes will serve.
“The Montevideo community has been petitioning for this home at this location for almost 14 years, and it’s very evident that the community is excited about its final completion,” said Cody Knutson, Project Manager of the Montevideo VH project. “The State of Minnesota has also really acknowledged the importance of taking care of our veterans by building three brand new facilities strategically located throughout the state to ensure every veteran has the opportunity to utilize these amazing resources.”
Working on a project like a veterans home is something we take immense pride in as we believe building a facility that will provide care and comfort to those who have served our nation is an honor of the highest regard. And while we are dedicated to delivering on all our projects, there is something intangibly special about being involved with projects that hold great significance to the local community, our state, and those who answered the most sacred of calls.
“There are memorable moments from every project,” said Aaron Whipple, Superintendent at the Preston VH project job site. “However, being a part of this special project that will provide much needed care to our veterans who have sacrificed so much is not something that I will soon forget.”
In all our work on the Preston and Montevideo job sites, we’ve also been reminded of the veterans who make up our own teams. This Veterans Day, please join us in thanking the following Team Blue veterans for their dedication to working with integrity, strength, passion, and grit in all they do, on our job sites and beyond.
