Knutson Construction Announces Five Promotions Across Several Offices and Departments

Knutson Construction is proud to announce the promotion of five team members across multiple locations and departments.

 

Corporate Promotions

Amy Schilling has been promoted to Marketing Director.
Amy initially joined Knutson as a marketing coordinator in 2014, rising through the ranks to lead Knutson’s global marketing portfolio, oversee all marketing aspects of the negotiated pursuit process, and play an integral role in setting marketing strategy to support Knutson’s strategic plan. A passionate leader and dynamic marketer who has contributed to over $1 billion in Knutson’s project awards during her tenure, Amy pursued a degree in Marketing Communications and Art from University of Wisconsin River Falls before graduating with an Associate of Applied Science degree in Visual Communications and Graphic Design from Brown College.

 

Rochester Promotions

Josh Cooper has been promoted to Director of Operations (Rochester + Mankato).
Josh joined Knutson in 2018 as a project manager, holding over 20 years of construction experience with expertise in the healthcare and K-12 markets. He has a B.S. in Building Construction from the University of Florida, is a DBIA Associate, and holds LEED AP, BD+C and B+ Best Value certifications. He also serves on the MN Laborers Vacation Fund Board of Trustees, has completed the AGC Advanced Management program in 2019, and graduated from Leadership Greater Rochester in 2022. Josh has worked on many of Knutson’s high-profile Rochester projects, including Northfield Public Schools, Rochester Public Schools, and Mayo Clinic’s Anna-Maria and Stephen Kellen Building. As the Director of Operations for the Rochester and Mankato offices, he will lead the operational discipline and support other company leaders in those markets as well as support Knutson’s continued growth in Mankato and Iowa.

 

Iowa City Promotions

Lee Maxwell has been promoted to Operations Manager (Iowa).
Lee initially joined Knutson as a project manager, bringing over 10 years of relevant experience to the Iowa City office when he first started in 2022. During his time at Knutson, he has worked primarily in the K-12 market, helping with projects like Clear Creek Amana Elementary School. As the Operations Manager of the Iowa office, he leads the Iowa City team’s operations across several departments and focuses on delivering The Knutson Experience to Knutson’s customers, partners, and employees. Lee holds a B.S. in Project Management from Colorado Technical University as well as an associate degree in Alternative Energy and Distribution from Kirkwood Community College. He is PMP certified and is involved with the Master Builders of Iowa.

 

Bo Black has been promoted to Preconstruction Manager.
Bo initially joined Knutson as a project estimator in November 2022, and after his promotion to Preconstruction Manager, he will lead Knutson’s estimating and business development opportunities in Iowa.. Bo holds a B.S. in Construction Management from the University of Northern Iowa and is currently pursuing a Master of Business Administration degree from Iowa State University. He has also been involved with Eastern Iowa’s ACE (Architecture, Construction, and Engineering) Sector Board.

 

Chris Martin has been promoted to Senior Superintendent.
Chris has been at Knutson since 2000, beginning as a general laborer and working his way up through the organization to his promotion to Senior Superintendent. Responsible for coordinating and expediting all job-site activities including safety oversight, field personnel training, quality control and schedule management as he supports project teams throughout the construction process, Chris has proven himself to be a key operational and cultural leader in the Iowa market. He is OSHA 30 certified.
